Gentle Paws Farewell offers pet cremation in West Sussex and Hampshire as part of our aftercare support, helping you understand the options and arranging cremation when you would like us to do so. If you prefer to keep your pet at home for home burial, or organise aftercare yourself, that is also completely acceptable.

There is no single right choice. Some families want their pet to remain at home, while others find comfort in cremation, with or without ashes returned. If you are unsure, we can talk through the options with you to help you decide.
Keeping your pet at home
Some families choose home burial and prefer their pet to stay at home. If this is your choice, we can leave your pet with you so you have quiet space and the time you need to make arrangements in your own way.
Choosing cremation
If you choose cremation, we will carefully transport your pet to a crematorium, handling your pet with dignity and respect throughout. We work closely with a local crematorium, and private cremation includes a scatter tube for their ashes. Other options are available should you prefer a different arrangement.
Private cremation, ashes returned
Private cremation means your pet is cremated separately. If you select ashes returned, your pet’s ashes are given back to you after cremation, with a scatter tube included.
When private cremation may feel right
Some families choose private cremation because they want ashes returned, or because they want a more personal option. If you would like keepsakes beyond the scatter tube, our partner crematorium offers additional choices.
Communal cremation, no ashes returned
Communal cremation means pets are cremated together. With this option, ashes are not returned. It can suit families who prefer a simpler cremation arrangement.
What is included
When cremation is arranged through us, transport to our preferred local crematorium is always included.
If you prefer to arrange cremation yourself
Some families already have an aftercare provider in mind, or prefer to manage arrangements independently. If that is your preference, you are welcome to organise your own cremation services and we will support you with clear communication during the home visit.
